received in UK for publication 28 JUXI~ 1975) A Japanese Loganiaceae plant, Gardneria multiflora, has been found to be a rich source of indolic alkaloids, 1) and the structure of the main base, gardneramine( was fully elucidated by us. 2,3) This paper deals with the isolation and structure elucidation of four new alkaloids of this plant.
