โฆ Synopsis
The gamma radiation accompanying the decay of 118 day 118Sn was studied with scintillation detectors, using kicksorters. The relative intensities of the 393 keV and the 257 keV gamma ray were found to be 100 : (3.0 ~-0.3). Chemical separations show that the 257 keV radiation belongs to n3Sn and not to its 1.75 hour xlSIn daughter. There is some evidence for a weak transition of 605 ยฑ 10 keV. Remarks about the decay scheme are added. *) On leave of absence from the University of Cairo, Giza, Egypt, U.A.R. t) Intensity ratios apply to the equilibrium state of the decay chain.
