Pokeweed Mitogen and Phytohaemagglutinin were found to stimulate the bone marrow cells of sick domestic pigs (Sus scrofa) while having no effect on healthy pigs. The mitotic chromosomes of the pig are described with particular reference to centromeric heterochromatin distribution and nucleolar organisation.
