β¦ Synopsis
SAHA, WEHRLI, AND GOMBERG dynamic programming-based algorithm is presented for computing FDT of a fuzzy digital object. It is shown that the algorithm terminates in a finite number of steps and when it does so, it correctly computes FDT. Several potential applications of fuzzy distance transform in medical imaging are presented. Among these are the quantification of blood vessels and trabecular bone thickness in the regime of limited special resolution where these objects become fuzzy.

Modern information systems, notably database management systems, are facing many challenges whose relevance and severity is constantly growing. These challenges are basically related to two aspects those systems are plagued of. The first is related to a sheer volume of data they have to deal with, a
This paper extends a previously reported theory and algorithms for object definition based on fuzzy connectedness. In this approach, a strength of connectedness is determined between every pair of image elements. This is done by considering all possible connecting paths between the two elements in e
