โœฆ Synopsis

In this paper, we give the definitions of fuzzy functional dependency (FFD), fuzzy multivalued dependency (FMVD) and fuzzy join dependency (FJD). We show that the inference rules of FFDs and FMVDs, which are similar to Armstrong's Axioms for classical case, are sound and complete. Furthermore, we show that a classical data dependency satisfies the definition of a fuzzy data dependency. We also show that FFD can be viewed as an FMVD and an FMVD can be viewed as an FJD. We discuss the test for implication of fuzzy data dependencies. A series of results, which are similar to the classical result, is obtained in this paper.

The concept of fuzzy multivalued dependencies (FMVDs) is introduced. It is concluded that FMVDs are more generalised than classical multivalued dependencies. A set of sound and complete inference rules, similar to Armstrong's axioms are proposed to derive more dependencies from a given set of FMVDs.

In this paper, we want to set up a series of design methods for relational databases based on the fuzzy inheritance relationship. We look upon the relationship between a class and its subclass as a scheme constraint. We present the concept of fuzzy inheritance dependencies and show that the inferenc

Based on the semantic equivalence degree the formal definitions of fuzzy functional dependencies (FFDs) and fuzzy multivalued dependencies (FMVDs) are first introduced to the fuzzy relational databases, where fuzziness of data appears in attribute values in the form of possibility attributions, as w
