โœฆ Synopsis

The aim of this paper is twofold: (i) To analyse why the fuzzy input-output controllers proposed by Buckley and Hayashi [Fuzzy Sets and Systems 58 (1993) 273] are hardly continuous and, based on this analysis, a special necessary and sufficient condition for the controllers being continuous is obtained. (ii) To amend Buckley-Hayashi's controllers so that to make them unconditionally continuous.

One of the reasons why fuzzy methodology is successful is that fuzzy systems are universal approximators, i.e., we can approximate an arbitrary continuous function within ลฝ . any given accuracy by a fuzzy system. In some practical applications e.g., in control , it is ลฝ desirable to approximate not

In this paper, we propose a multi-layer fuzzy logic controller (MLFLC) for multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) systems. For the convenience of analysis, the structure of the multi-layer fuzzy logic controller is divided into multi-input-singleoutput (MISO) controllers. Each multi-input-single-output con
