β¦ Synopsis
A new shadow model for nuclear fusion is proposed by re-defining the critical value of distance of closest approach between charged particles. The model reproduces the experimental data for the p+12 C system in a satisfactory way. In order to investigate the physical content of an effective Coulomb potential, introduced in a previous model, elastic scattering data are obtained at energies as low as 50 keV in the framework of LESCAT experiment.
