โฆ Synopsis
The "equilibrium melting temperature" of isotactic polypropylene and of a number of its mixtures with hexadecane, c,-chloronaphthalene, decalin and naphthalene is determined by extrapolation of several experimental melting temperature data obtained by rapid melting of each sample isothermally crystallized at different temperatures.
A fusion enthalpy of 1900 + 300 cal/unit and a fusion entropy of 4.2_ 0.7 e.u./unit are calculated as the most probable values for the pure polymer and compared with corresponding values previously found or suggested in the literature.
