Enamines are vinylated by β‐(5‐nitrofur‐2‐yl)‐β‐chloro‐α‐cyanoacrylic acid derivatives 2 yielding push‐pull‐dienes 3, 4 or 6. Acidic ring closure of 3 leads to pyridin‐2‐ones 7 or chromen‐2‐ones 8, respectively.
