✦ Synopsis

The theory of implicit models, was defined by the authors in a previous work, and is extended in this brief paper to include the possibility that an external dither signal may affect the regulator action. The presence of this dither signal permits the existence of a broader class of implicit models. As a consequence, it is possible to develop an adaptive control algorithm based on finite-and infinitehorizon quadratic optimization criteria.
