โฆ Synopsis
This paper reviews some of the literature relating to radiation damage in composite materials and relates the results to the chemical structure of the matrix resin. A mechanism of radiation damage at low temperatures is outlined, and those structural features that contribute to radiation stability are defined. The effect of structure on radiation-induced gas evolution rates is discussed and the results of experiments designed to measure the influence of composition on gas evolution rates at 4 K are presented.
