✦ Synopsis

Abstract

A theoretical investigation was conducted to explore boiling characteristics of magnetic fluids, including the effects of a magnetic field on the surface characteristics of magnetic fluids, the significance of body force and the stress induced. Emphasis was placed on aspects of nucleation, bubble behavior and dynamics. Β© 2002 Scripta Technica, Heat Trans Asian Res, 31(2): 69–75, 2002; DOI 10.1002/htj.10012

The effect of mass concentration of magnetic particles and an applied magnetic field on pool boiling heat transfer of water-based magnetic fluid on a horizontal heater was investigated. The experimental results show that high-concentration magnetic fluid deteriorates boiling heat transfer, while mid

## Abstract The analytical solution to the equation of motion is given for the steady laminar flow of a uniformly conducting incompressible non‐Newtonian fluid between two parallel planes. The fluid is under the influence of a constant pressure gradient and is subjected to a steady magnetic field p

We consider the heating of a metal stent in an alternating magnetic field from an induction heating furnace. An approximate theoretical analysis is conducted to estimate the magnetic field strength needed to produce substantial temperature increases. Experiments of stent heating in industrial furnac
