Polyribosomes (polysomes) , active in an amino acid incorporation system in vitro, were isolated from tobacco leaf protoplasts. A comparison of polysome profiles indicated that the polysome/ monosome ratio is greatly decreased in isolated protoplasts as compared to the intact leaf. In isolated prot
