โฆ Synopsis
The results of dynamic stressing experiments on isotactic polypropylene film samples with draw ratios Q) of 5 and 11.7 on the vibrational spectra are measured using FTIR spectroscopy up to a maximum applied stress of 29 kg mm-'. The effects of stressing on the vibrational band wavenumbers are compared with results of previous work and it is concluded that both C-C skeletal backbone stretching and helical uncoiling are involved in the mechanism of stressing at the molecular level.
