The hydrogen bonds between I -dimethylamino-2-propanone and phenols are investigated by FT-IR spectroscopy. The thermodynamic parameters are determined in carbontetra-chloride and in 1,2dichloroethane. The infrared spectra show that the oxygen and nitrogen atoms are involved in hydrogen bond formation. The occupation of the two sites depends on the solvent and the difference is discussed in terms of different conformational equilibria.
