The 'last page' in each issue of Annalen der Physik contains a reprint of the journal's table of contents of 100 years ago. The present issue shall in addition commemorate another event: The 100th birthday (4 February) of Friedrich Hund, Professor Emeritus in Gottingen. His name is familiar to every
