✦ Synopsis

The properties of a microstrip-plot coupled line on isotropic substrate are analyzed using the full-wa¨e modal analysis method. The computational method presented in this paper is general in nature, and can be applied to unilateral finline structures and suspended substrate lines by changing the width of the microstrip or slot. The numerical ( results for the frequency-dependent normalized guide wa¨elength r g ) ( ) and characteristic impedance Z for the dominant strip mode and 0 0 slot mode of the microstrip-slot coupled line on isotropic substrates are presented for suitable phase-shifting and impedance-transforming network applications.
