Measurements carried out on bulk samples of apiezon N grease in nylon tubes indicate that the grease behaves as a thermal insulator between 4.2 and 1.4 K, and therefore applications utilizing thick grease coatings to provide thermal contact should be avoided. In addition it was observed that the the
