The IMI is sponsored by three research councils -the EPSRC, ESRC and BBSRC -and is managed by a unit within the EPSRC.
Funding of f450 000 for the new Research Chairs is provided by the EPSRC and Royal Academy of Engineering on a pump-priming basis over five years. Each chair will receive a 'starter grant' on appointment, Further grants and studentships will be awarded on a competitive basis.
