โœฆ Synopsis

In this paper, through exploitation of the superposition method, a highly accurate analytical solution is provided for the free vibration problem of rectangular cantilever plates with symmetrically distributed point supports along the free edges. Tables of eigenvalues for a wide range of plate aspect ratio are provided. Also provided are some modal shape figures.

Free vibration analysis of isotropic Mindlin plates with edges elastically restrained against rotation and translation is carred out by a variational method. The elastic restraints are assumed to be uniformly distributed along the edges. Elastically restrained Timoshenko beam functions are used as c
