The promised alien Messiah is dead. Hickory witnessed his spaceship, the Ark, light up like a Roman candle when it flew into Prosperine's sun, but Hickory wants to believe he survived the crash - somehow. When reality sinks in, Hickory's belief in the prophecy that has driven the Alien Corps' quest over the last century is fractured. Then, miraculously, a life pod is spotted, but who or what does it contain? The Galactic Alliance doesn't know, but the technology used to build it is far more advanced than anything on Earth. Before they can retrieve it, a Bikashi battle cruiser snatches the capsule from under their noses. It's a race against time as Hickory, Jess, and Gareth head to the Bikashi home world to bring back the capsule and its contents before the Empire learns its secret and the balance of power in the galaxy is changed for eternity.
