✦ Synopsis

Deformation controlled uniaxial tensile tests were performed in which the curing condition of the specimens was varied. A normalweight as well as a lightweight concrete were investigated. It emerged from the results that there is a significant influence of the curing condition on the fracture mechanics parameters, that are incorporated in a-S curves. Tests are described and results are presented. The results are discussed in the light of the material behaviour under different moisture content and in the light of shrinkage stresses or shrinkage cracks due to drying of the specimens.
