Early in this century\ the arrival of quantum mechanics resulted in a split in the world views of physicists[ In classical mechanics the apparent correspondence between mathematical models and their physical counterparts was often so close that little distinction needed to be made between the two[ I

β¦ Synopsis
Computational results indicate that, as " β’ 0, the angular momentum distribution of the quantum kicked rotator behaves, in the " β’ 0 limit, as a fractal curve of dimension 1.7. This fractal structure is unrelated to any classical structure. The classical distribution curve can be recovered from the quantum results by coase graining.
