✦ Synopsis
Abstract
This paper presents two novel pattern reconfigurable microstrip antennas, which are formed by second‐ and third‐order fractal Hilbert curves, respectively. Both of the antennas have the feature of linearly polarized reconfigurable radiation patterns. By controlling switches on/off, the radiation patterns can be reconfigured in the upper‐half space. The two antennas have potential applications in mobile communication systems and large phased arrays. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A microstrip leaky‐wave antenna (MLWA) with parasitic elements is presented in this letter. The short MLWA is the basic element, and two microstrip patches with a short‐circuit edge worked as the parasitic elements. The main lobe scans from 66° to 42° when operating frequency increases
## Abstract This article presents a novel broadband E‐shape radiation pattern reconfiguratable microstrip antenna. The MEMS switches are used to turn the two operations, a basis mode E‐shape microstrip antenna and a high‐order mode E‐shape microstrip antenna. It is important to make wide‐beam and h
## Abstract This work describes the design of a radiation pattern reconfigurable microstrip antenna electrically controlled by packaged Radio frequency micro‐electro‐mechanical system (RF MEMS). The antenna operates at 12.24 GHz with good return loss characteristics and a ∼7.5 dBi gain at ±30° scan
