β¦ Synopsis
This is the second of two papers dealing with the road surface contribution to the tireΓpavement skid resistance[ In the _rst part\ an overview of surface texture parameters\ a regressional approach to skid resistance estimations and the mathematical background of fractal interpolation functions were presented[ Special emphasis has been given to the evaluation of surface wetting\ whereas in this second part\ the emphasis is concentrated on the e}ect of surface wear to the values of skid resistance[ For this purpose\ the mathematical background is extended to cover C 0 interpolation curves[ A regression equation is used again to conventionally evaluate the assumptions made for the wearing procedure of the pavement surface texture[ The whole attempt yields encouraging results[ Γ 0887 Elsevier Science Ltd[ All rights reserved[

Pavement skid resistance has Iong been recognized as the most important parameter to reduce traffic accidents. The factors affecting skid resistance are numerous and very complicated. It is a difficult task to estimate the extent and direction of their overall contribution. This paper deals with the
