✦ Synopsis
Small-angle X-ray scattering data from a microemulsion system close to a phase transition have been analysed using fractal theories of aggregation. The resulting correlation length of the clusters is comparable to that obtained from dynamic light scattering. The fractal dimensionality of the clusters is in general smaller than that obtained by theoretical aggregation models. This more open structure is believed to be due to the reversibility of the aggregation process.
