✦ Synopsis


Vibrational levels belonging to cb and tram bridged and unbridged rotamers existing in the vapour over vaporizing [(q'-CsH,)Fe(CO& and [(q'-CsHs)Ru(CO),], were investigated using the Fourier transform infrared matrix-isolation technique. In order to model surface reactions, co-depositions of Hz0 or HCI were also performed. Hydrogen-bonded complexes were detected in both instances. In addition, the existence of a high-temperature stable rotamer of the protonated form was proved for both compounds at their vaporization temperature (70-120°C).
