โฆ Synopsis
The pure rotational absorption spectrum of the (\mathrm{SH}) radical in the ground ({ }^{2}) II state was observed by a high-resolution Fourier transform spectrometer. The radical was generated by a dc discharge in an (\mathrm{H}{2} \mathrm{~S}, \mathrm{H}{2}), and (\mathrm{He}) mixture. Rotational transitions in the ({ }^{2} \Pi_{1 / 2}) components were directly observed for the first time. The observed 31 absorption lines, together with 1 -type doubling transitions measured by Meerts and Dymanus (Astrophys. J. 187, L45, 1974; Can. J. Phys. 53, 2123,1975 ), were analyzed by a least-squares method, to determine the rotational, centrifugal, spin-rotation coupling, and (\Lambda)-type doubling constants in the ground state.
