One 1D and three 3D thiocyanate cadmium(II) polymeric complexes with a series of open chain diazine Schiff bases as auxiliary bridging ligands have been synthesized and crystallographically characterized.

, cadmium(II) ions are interlinked by double l-1,3 thiocyanate ligands resulting in a 1D chain running along a direction. The three 3D complexes are isostructural with general formula of [Cd 2 (L 2-4

In the complexes of 2-4, the double l-1,3 thiocyanate ligands form a chain and the chains are further interlinked by single diazine ligands into a three-dimensional (10,3)-b net with each cadmium ion as a node.
