β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
In this article, an active integrated microstrip antenna combining the output power of four fieldβeffect transistors (FETs) is described. The radiation pattern is similar to a fourβelement phased array. The antenna is fed along its nonradiating edge thereby permitting the FETs to be connected directly to it. A prototype operating at 2.455 GHz demonstrates the feasibility of the antenna. Β© 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
