have bought 27 claims of mining land in Paradox Valley, Col., the greatest radium-bearing ore deposit now known. A National Radium Institute has been formed by the above and others to work the carnotite deposits on the claims under the supervision of the Bureau of Mines, which is said to have devised a new and cheaper method of extracting radium chloride. None of the radium extracted will be for sale, but the whole will be used in special clinics for the treatment of cancer in the Memorial Hospital, New York City, and in Dr. Kelly's hospital in Baltimore.
