It is generally agreed that more lymphocytes are lost daily from the circulating blood than are present at any one time.

The bone marrow is considered by several investigators to be one of the most important sites in which elimination of circulating lymphocytes takes place. Jordan ( '39)' Kindred ('42), Yoffey ('54) and Farr (,51) claim that lymphocytes are filtered out of the circulation in the bone marrow to serve as precursors of erythroid or myeloid elements. This view appears to be supported by the finding of Yoffey and Parnell
