✦ Synopsis


A method of synthesis of fractal CuS films with a given value of fractal dimension is proposed. The method is based on the CuS film formation governed by spatial patterns occurring during the oxidation of ascorbic acid by oxygen air in the presence of a copper(H) coordination compound, methylene blue, and potassium sulfide in a Petri dish open to the air. The fractal dimension of the CuS films correlates with the fractal dimension of chemical patterns.
