✦ Synopsis

Cadmium sul®de nanoparticles were prepared within the siliceous MCM-41 mesoporous molecular sieve, whose surface was functionalized with 3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane at dierent temperatures. Their size, estimated from diuse re¯ectance UV/VIS spectra, decreases with increasing number of introduced thiol groups acting as anchors.
