Abstract

Reaction of an iminophosphorane 2 bearing the Martin ligand with dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate, followed by a ring opening reaction of a [2+2]‐cycloadduct between them, gave the corresponding α‐iminoalkylidenephosphorane 3, which was hydrolyzed to afford 1,2λ^5^‐oxaphosphol‐5(2H)‐one 4.
