✦ Synopsis

AbStIWt

A forgetting factor algorithm was evaluated and introduced in the simultaneous multi-component assay of mixtures. Three kinds of preparation, a compound injection of antipyrine, a three-acid powder and a four-acid powder, were analysed with satisfactory results. Estimates obtained by Kahnan filtering and a discussion of the relationship between the forgetting factor algorithm and Kahnan filtering are also given.

Near-infrared (IR) spectroscopy is used for the rapid, nondestructive identification and quantitation of the hydrate form of drug compounds forming both single and multiple hydration states. Near-IR is shown to be useful in both bulk drug and in finished solid dosage forms. The capability of near-IR

## Abstract This paper presents a novel computational approach, the discrete singular convolution (DSC) algorithm, for analysing plate structures. The basic philosophy behind the DSC algorithm for the approximation of functions and their derivatives is studied. Approximations to the delta distribut
