โœฆ Synopsis

The scope of forensic science and forensic techniques will need to be expanded to assist in the prosecution of computer crime, given the growth of such crimes and new legislation in the form of the Computer Misuse Act 1990. This paper outlines the legislation in the United Kingdom relevant to computer crimes and the associated laws of evidence, and the techniques which may be relevant to reconstructing evidence and assisting the police in their search for the criminal; and briefly discusses the use of information technology to present this evidence in court.
