Software features include support for 64/128-bit WEP as well as a 256-bit version of WEP, WiFi Protected Access (WPA), IEEE 802.1x RADIUS authentication, Denial of Service (DoS) protection, a series of filtering capabilities that provides a built-in firewall capability and, as you might expect from a vendor of VPN security routers, a VPN pass-through tunnel capability.

In addition to the previously mentioned software features the Asanté FR1104-G wireless firewall router includes such standard access point features as network address translation (NAT) and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) as well as support for Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) versions v1 and v2. Owing to the router's comprehensive hardware and software functionality its use ranges from the home environment, where a simple access point capability may be required, to the more
