โฆ Synopsis
Taking the magnet/c dtffustvtty of the superconductor m the flux creep state into constderatton, the maximum magnettc held differences (H O) at which a flux jump will occur are calculated From our calculated results, assum/ng the extreme hm/t D m ~ Dth, Hfl wtll have a power dependence of between -1/6 and -1/2 on the magnetic held sweep rates For low magnettc held sweep rates and good coohng conditions, the values of H 0 m the flux creep state become considerably larger than those calculated by other authors m the adtabattc state

Flux jumping has been observed in the shielding curves of a Bi2Sr2CaCu2Os+x tube between 2.2 and 4.5K, up to \_\_\_3T. The temperature and applied field sweep rate dependences of the flux jump field afj have been examined and compared to those of conventional superconductors with good agreement. At
Experimental results are reported on flux jumps measured by means of search coils on a short sample superconducting tape in an increasing field perpendicular to its surface. The superconducting material, the stabilizing copper thickness, the cooling condition, and the transport current have been var
The appropriate magnetic and thermal diffusion equations for magnetization of a "hard" type II superconductor have been solved numerically using a digital computer, and show the initiation of flux jumps at applied field strengths in agreement with experimentally observed magnitudes.
