to form a fluorescent species The fluorescence emlsslon IS greatly enhanced m the presence of sultable micelies and this micellar fluorescence reactlon allows a convement fluorlmetrlc determmatlon of traces of Iron A detection hmrt of 10 ng ml-' of Fe(II1) was obtamed and the cahbratlon graph was rectilinear up to 700 ng ml-' of Fe(II1) The precision (relatme standard devlatlon) was found to be 2 5% at the 100 ng ml-' Fe0111 level The proposed procedure 1s highly selectme, and has been applied to the determmation of iron in some metallurgical samples without any preseparatlon Keywordr Nuorimetry, Iron
