✦ Synopsis
A method is described for determining riboflavin 5'-phosphate (FMN) and flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) in mixtures by fluorimetric titration with the FMN-specific apoprotein of flavodoxin from Peptostreptococcus elsdenii.
Accurate determinations can be carried out in the presence of a variety of compounds that decrease the fluorescence yield of FMN; the method may therefore be especially useful in the analysis of crude protein-free extracts of biological materials.
