✦ Synopsis
The fluorescence anisotropy ratios, r, of An-PBLG [poly(y-benzyl-I~-glutamate) with anthracene group] were measured over wide concentration regions for several solution systems. At certain concentrations of An-PBLGs, the values of r became nearly zero, corresponding to the transition of solution to liquid crystalline state. These concentrations depended on the degree of polymerization of PBLG and the nature of added solvents.

The emission anisotropies of PBLG-RhB [rhodamine B chemically bound to the terminal amino group of poly(7-benzyl L-glutamate)] have been measured in a semi-concentrated solution of PBLG. The results show that the extent of the aggregation behaviour of PBLG gradually increases with increasing concent
