โฆ Synopsis
Norfloxacin, 1-ethyl-6-fluoro-1,4-dihydro-4-0x0-7-( carboxylic acid (NORH), reacts with aluminium( III) ion forming the strongly fluorescent complex [ 3+, in slightly acidic at 440 mn with at 320 is enhanced of 0.5% of the of trace of NOR in serum. of fluorescence on NOR at a NOR Al concentration of in the a detection limit of of aluminium( to form by titrations in 0.1 M LiCl medium, using glass electrode, at K, 2 lop4 [Al] 10e4; 10e4 [NOR] I 9 X lop4 mol/dm'; 2.8 I pH s 8.3. The experimental data were explained by the following complexes and their respective stability constants, log(Pf a): [Al(HNOR) 1, (14.60f0.05); [Al(NOR)], (8.83 kO.08); [Al(OH),(NOR)],
( -14.9*0.1), as well as several pure hydrolytic complexes of Al3 + . The structure of the [ Al( HNOR) ] complex is discussed, with respect to its fluorescence properties.
