✦ Synopsis
The fluorescence from continuously T-irradiated solutions of naphthalenc and naphthdem+ is enhanced in a magnetic field. The enhancement is larger in squalane than in cyclohexane solutions but is smaller for naphthalene-ds than for the parent naphthalene in both solvents. These observations are in general agreement with a recent theoretical model which describes the effect of a magnetic field on the rate of loss of spin correlation of geminate ion pairs prior to recombination.
