β¦ Synopsis
Experimental phase equilibria for the ternary system consisting of supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO?) + methyl oleate + oleic acid were measured at 3 13.15 and 333.15 K and pressures up to 35 MPa. The equilibrium data were correlated using the Peng-Robinson equation-of-state with the Panagiotopoulos and Reid mixing rules. The solubilities and distribution coefficients of methyl oleate and oleic acid in SC-CO2 were studied at different extraction conditions and mole fraction ratios of methyl oleate to oleic acid.

The solubility isotherms of oleic acid at 35 and 45 "C have been determined. The data was correlated using the model proposed by Chrastil,t and as predicted, a linear relationship between the logarithm of the solubility and logarithm of the density was obtained. Some discrepancies between the solubi
