## Abstract Adrenomedullin (AM) is hypothesized to be a physiologically relevant regulator in fluid and electrolyte homeostasis. AM acts within the central nervous system to inhibit both water and salt intake. The peptide has direct actions in the hypothalamus to decrease vasopressin secretion and
