Special rates are available for educational institutions that wish to make photocopies for non-profit educational classroom use. pump industry ANALYST Clyde Pumps, Union Pump form ClydeUnion T he former Textron company Union Pump, headquartered in Battle Creek, Michigan, USA, is to integrate with Clyde Pumps, the company formed by Jim McColl last year following the purchase of Glasgow, Scotland-based Weir Pumps. The two pump companies have been rebranded as ClydeUnion, with a combined workforce of more than 1400. The move follows the completion of Clyde Blowers Ltd's acquisition of Textron's Fluid & Power Division, including Maag Pump Systems, David Brown Gear Systems, David Brown Hydraulics and Union Pump (see Pump Industry Analyst, September 2008).
McColl, executive chairman of ClydeUnion, said: "As a result of this acquisition, the Union Pump business will integrate with Clyde Pumps and become ClydeUnion. This more than doubles the size of our business and is a significant step in our development to becoming a market leading pump engineering company. We fully expect that ClydeUnion will be amongst the top three pump companies by 2012."
