Means of measuring gas temperatures by the use of flowmeters, singly or in series, are described. The method is capable of giving a true gas temperature with an estimated accuracy of f 2 per cent of the absolute temperature, without the necessity for applying correction factors. The temperature measurement can be made nearly independent of any mechanism of heat transfer to or from the detecting elements, and therefore may be more accurate than other devices in cases where gross errors can be caused by heat transfer phenomena. Such instances may arise where very small flows are involved, or low gas velocities exist.

Zusammenfassung-Der Verfasser beschreibt Verfahren zur Messung der Gastemperatur mit Hilfe von Striimungsmessern, die einzeln oder in Serie angewendet werden. Man erhiilt eine wahre Gastemperatur mit einem gesch%zten Fehler von f 2 Prozent der absoluten Temperatur ohne Verwendung von Korrekturfaktoren. Die Temperaturmessung kann nahezu viillig unabhsngig vom Mechanismus der W%rmeiibertragung zu oder von dem Anzeigeelement ausgefiihrt werden und diirfte daher genauer sein als bei anderen Geriiten, bei denen ein grosser B'ehler durch die Wiirmeiibertragnng entstehen kann. Beispiele dieser Art sind sehr kleine StrGmungs- mengen oder niedrige Geschwindigkeiten.
