-Experiment data are reported for local heat transfer coefficients during condensation of a pure vapour inside a horizontal tube. Approximately 8Ml local measurements of condensate heat transfer coefficients are given for the condensation of five different vapours covering a wide range of vapour flow rates. The data have been used to examine the transition from annular to stratified/wavy flow which may occur in the condensation process. This transition is found to lie close to that recommended by Taitel and Dukler[ll.
