Precise measurements on the volume [tow of liquid helium H through thin

Vycor disks with 40-A nominal pore diameter in the temperature range 1.2-1.7K are reported. Data for the super[luid volume [lux density as a function of the pressure gradient across the Vycor disk are presented. A saturation volume [lux density for moderately low pressure gradient is found. The super[luid onset in the Vycor is detected by a novel method and the value of the onset temperature obtained is in agreement with previous measurements.
